Iraq 2003 vs. Iraq 2010 – Source of Electricity Production

Iraq-FlagIn 2003, the electricity produced in Iraq was 98.5% produced from Oil.

In 2010, Electricity production diversified to use the Gas for more than half of the Electricity produced. The Iraqi Gas which is almost entirely burned off in pre-2003 era. The increase in the Hydroelectric production was a massive 6 folds from 1.5% to 9.5% utilising the power of Iraq’s substantial rivers Euphrates and Tigris.
